UConn women featured in ESPN Tip-Off Marathon

The College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon – more than 24 hours of consecutive basketball coverage by ESPN – has become one of the more popular features in the early part of the college season and in 2014-15 the UConn women will have a prominent spot in the lineup.

UConn, the defending women’s national champions, will play rival Stanford on the road and the Nov. 17 game (9 p.m.) will be carried by ESPN2 as the third game in the lineup.

The Marathon build to a big finish on the men’s side with the State Farm Champions Classic at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis when Michigan State meets Duke and Kansas plays Kentucky, both on ESPN on Nov. 18. The Marathon ends with Texas Tech at LSU (ESPN2, 9:30 p.m., Nov. 18).

The UConn men are not in the package but a couple of AAC teams will be playing interesting matchups. SMU is at Gonzaga on the first night. The second day, at 2 p.m. in the afternoon Wichita State plays Memphis in Sioux Falls, S.D.
