There’s a new radio show in town. Actually, we are internet radio so you can tune in just about anywhere with a laptop, mobile device or tablet.

The main dish is one hour of college sports talk, with a very generous portion of UConn football and basketball on the menu every week.

College Countdown with Ken Davis made its debut on SMCRadio on Sept. 4, 2014. We come to you live every week from 8-9 p.m. EST. Our goal is to bring you the top stories in college sports and give you a chance to tell us what is on your mind. Want to talk about the start of the Bob Diaco era in UConn football? Want to look ahead to Ryan Boatright’s season as the Huskies defend their men’s basketball title? Have some thoughts on that NCAA secondary violation handed down to women’s coach Geno Auriemma?

We want this to be your show. We will have guests and interviews but all you have to do is dial 1-844-430-7621 and speak your mind.

There will be time to talk about UConn, the news from the American Athletic Conference, and we will take a look at the national scene, previewing the best games, discussing the top conferences and breaking down issues.

Our first show featured an interview with Bill Hancock, executive director of the College Football Playoff. Bill broke down the new playoff system that will be in place this season. Find out more about the show and give a listen here. The show can also be heard on Stitcher Radio and TuneIn Radio as part of the SMCRadio network.

Shows are also archived in iTunes, in the podcast area under SMCRadio.

Tune in Thursday, Sept. 11 from 8-9 p.m. when we will be joined by Katherine Redmond Brown, founder of the National Coalition Against Violent Athletes, and a national expert in athlete violence and response. B.J. Rains, Boise State football beat writer for the Idaho Press Tribune and BlueTurfSports.com , will also join us to help preview Saturday’s game between UConn and the Broncos at Rentschler Field (Noon, ABC).

Call in. Give us a try. Think you will like what you hear. And keep coming back here for articles, columns and details about the show. – Ken Davis
