Dunn leads Providence into first place, FoxSports.com rankings

It was a good day for the Providence Friars, especially guard Kris Dunn.

Dunn, a sophomore from New London, Conn., recorded the first triple-double for a Providence player in a Big East game Thursday. Dunn had 27 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists as the Friars (16-5, 6-2 Big East) defeated DePaul at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence. The victory moved the Friars into first place in the Big East, ahead of Villanova (18-2, 5-2).

Earlier in the day, the Friars moved into the FoxSports.com Power Rankings at No. 25.

The game had been rescheduled to Thursday afternoon from Tuesday because of the snowstorm that dumped several feet of snow on the New England area earlier in the week.

Dunn leads the nation in assists with a 7.6 average per game. According to The Providence Journal it was the 10th triple-double in Providence history.
