Welcome to my new blog page. If you ever visited my old blog, welcome back. If you are a new reader, welcome to Ken Davis Files.
It has been over two years since I’ve written on my own blog. Why? Well, from Sept. 2011 to Sept. 2013, I was busy covering all things related to UConn athletics at UConnPlaybook.com, part of the Scout.com network. In Oct. 2012, national college basketball coverage was added to my duties and my work appeared on the Scout.com and FOXSports.com sites. That kept me very busy – through the 2013 Final Four and beyond. I have parted ways with Scout.com. I won’t go into all the details. Let’s make it simple and say the end came due to financial reasons. UConn fans didn’t subscribe. And Scout.com basically is a recruiting site that thrives on subscriptions.
I spent the spring and summer writing my third book, which has just been released. It is titled “100 Things Kansas Fans Should Know & Do Before They Die.” I had a great time in Lawrence, Kan., in early October with my first two book signings and Late Night in the Phog. I am working with Triumph Books to schedule more signings in Kansas in the coming months.
This site is still under construction. Soon I hope to have the ability to sell signed, personalize copies of the book here. Details to come.
But for now, I’ve got to do the thing I’ve done all my life. Writing is what makes me tick. I’ll still be on Twitter at @Kendavis55 and Facebook. I’m doing work for AP, Basketball Times and SportsXchange, among others. On this blog, you will find files on UConn basketball, UConn football, Kansas basketball, college athletics, the national scene, random thoughts about life and files on music and concerts from time to time.
Thanks to my son, Joe, for setting up this site. He is a social media wizard and we will be working together to bring more elements to this page. I’ve got some updating to do. Bear with me. We will have everything shaped up soon.
Thanks for visiting. I hope you keep checking back.
