UConn, Holy Cross to renew football series in 2017

UConn and Holy Cross will renew its series in football with a non-conference game on Sept. 9, 2017 at Rentschler Field in East Hartford.

UConn announced Wednesday the 29th meeting between the schools, a rivalry that began in 1916. The last meeting took place in 1985, a game won 22-2 by the Huskies at Memorial Stadium in Storrs. The Crusaders lead the series 19-8-1.

Holy Cross is a member of the Patriot League in the Football Championship Subdivision and began offering football scholarships again with the freshman class that enrolled in the fall of 2013.
