UConn senior Deshon Foxx, who had a 72-yard punt return touchdown in the Huskies’ victory over Stony Brook Saturday, has been named American Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week. UConn wide receiver Geremy Davis, who had six receptions for 113 yards and a TD, was named to the conference honor roll.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Paxton Lynch • So. • QB • Memphis • Deltona, Fla.
Lynch engineered a Memphis offense that ran 81 plays and reeled off 489 yards of total offense in a 42-35 setback at No. 11 UCLA. He completed 27 of 41 passes for a career-high 305 yards and a touchdown against a Bruins squad that has been tabbed as a bona fide national championship contender. He added 27 rushing yards, including a first-half touchdown that gave the Tigers an early lead. Through two games, Lynch has completed 69.1 percent of his passes (47 of 68) for 547 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nigel Harris • So. • LB • USF • Tampa, Fla.
Harris led a USF defense that forced six turnovers in a 24-17 loss to Maryland. He finished the day with nine tackles, including eight solo stops, to go with two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and a sack against the Terrapins. Harris has three forced fumbles through the first two weeks of the season, ranking second nationally with 1.5 per game. He is 12th nationally in solo tackles (7.5 per game).

Deshon Foxx • Sr. • WR • UConn • Lynchburg, Va.
Foxx finished with 91 all-purpose yards and scored what proved to be the decisive points in UConn’s 19-16 win against Stony Brook. Foxx had a 72-yard punt return for a touchdown in the third quarter to put the Huskies ahead 19-10. He finished the game with 85 yards on three punt returns and added a six-yard reception. Foxx ranks 14th nationally in punt return average (14.0) through two weeks of the season.

Rushed for a career-high 130 yards with a touchdown on 13 carries, averaging 10.0 yards per carry, in a 47-0 win against Grambling State.
Tank Jakes • Sr. • LB • Memphis • Phenix City, Ala.
Led Memphis with 12 tackles, including 11 solo stops in a 42-35 loss at No. 11 UCLA. Had two sacks and four tackles for loss, a forced fumble and a pass breakup.
P.J. Walker • So. • QB • Temple • Elizabeth, N.J.
Completed 29 of 49 passes for 240 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 71 yards on 13 carries to finish with 311 yards of total offense in a 31-24 loss to Navy.
