UNCASVILLE, Conn. – I had the opportunity to cover two more exciting college basketball games in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic Sunday at Mohegan Sunday.
The nation may not know much about Providence’s LaDontae Henton, but he has to be one of the top 10 players in the country this season – if not top 5, first-team All-American level. All he did Sunday was score a career-high 38 points and block a last-second shot as the Friars (5-0) defeated Notre Dame 75-74. It was one of the best individual performances I’ve seen in a long time. Keep you eye on Henton the rest of the season. Here’s my story for AP.
In the first game of the day, UMass defeated Florida State. Here’s that story.
