Steve Pikiell’s Stony Brook team had a big impact on this week’s college basketball power rankings. I had to dramatically drop the Washington Huskies in the weekly rankings for FoxSports.com after Pikiell’s Seawolves shocked Washington.
It has been that kind of year.
If you have followed my weekly rankings, you might have noticed I have yet to include Northern Iowa, the No. 23 team in both the AP and USA Today polls.
I feel justified after the Panthers lost their second game of the season, falling to Evansville 52-49 on Thursday. Northern Iowa is now 11-2.
