I intended to post this photo montage from the national championship game about a week ago. Two days after returning home from New Orleans, I tested positive for COVID. There’s little doubt that I caught the virus in the Superdome, where I think Roy and Wanda Williams may have been the only people wearing masks. After 25 months of being extremely cautious, I lost the battle. Thank goodness my wife and I are vaccinated and boosted. And thank goodness we have medicine to basically recover in five days.
Still feeling a little sluggish, but I wanted to share these photos I took from pregame, to warmups, to the band, to the opening tip and finally to the championship celebration on the floor with the Jayhawks.
It was a night I’ll never forget.
