Kansas to honor basketball coaching legends

Think about the crazy amount of turnover in the college coaching profession. Then reflect on the legendary University of Kansas basketball program, which has had only four coaches since 1964.

Make that four terrific coaches with Final Four appearances, Coach of the Year awards, Hall of Fame credentials and a shared passion for basketball and KU.

The Jayhawks are very lucky that Ted Owens, Larry Brown, Roy Williams and Bill Self paced the sidelines at Allen Field House and kept the tradition of Kansas hoops alive.

With the 60th anniversary of Allen Fieldhouse approaching, Kansas fans are about to have the rare opportunity to see all four together. Owens, Brown, Williams and Self are coming together at the Fieldhouse on Oct. 27 for a program called “Celebrating 60 years.”

Ticket information will be released in early September, according to a release from KU Tuesday. All proceeds will benefit charities designated by the coaches.

Read the entire release from KU here. Should be a night to remember.
