Duke up to No. 2 after victory at Wisconsin

2014-15 College Basketball Power Rankings: Week 3

There are two levels of competition this season in college basketball. On any given night, you are either playing Kentucky or not playing Kentucky. It really doesn’t get any simpler than that. We’ve already seen John Calipari’s Wildcats handle No. 5 Kansas 72-40, and a very good Providence team couldn’t figure out how to score in a 58-38 loss at Rupp Arena. Next up? No. 6 Texas. The undefeated Longhorns are good. On Sunday, Rick Barnes took his Horns to Storrs, Conn., and they stunned the defending national champs at the buzzer. Can they get that kind of chance in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge against Kentucky? Probably not, but let’s watch just to see. – Ken Davis
